Dear friends
On 14 December 2009 ,myself and a collegue who is manager of a sister organisation met with Tare Mapungwana and two of her relatives(Memory who is aunt and Clifford who is a counsin brother) at the Dove Office .Tare`s mum was also present
We discussed the journey we had trodded together and we agreed the first mission of bringing Tare and helping her with the operation had been accomplished .Of course no one had anticipated a second operation or overstay in hospital and so some expenses had shot up
We also discussed her donations and we agreed that a total of 13 000 pounds had been raised to date and this is the money GCNW had in its Trust Account .9000 pounds had been paid direct to hospital on 3 December 2009 .2000 pounds was used for pre operation costs.
So far Tare has the following amounts left ;
2000 pounds balance from 13 000 pounds is with GCNW
440 pounds deposited by well wishers in the private family account in UK
3000 pounds from OS organisation
Tare is expected to undergo a second operation very soon and an estimated 6000 pounds will be needed for constructive surgery especially replacement of her teeth .Tare`s visa expires in February 2009 and will need to be extended for another six months
At the moment there are 3 well wishers to include a relative who have offered Tare free accommodation to cut rental costs so as to save funds for second surgery
